Fitz Gate is an early-stage venture capital fund started by Princeton founders and operators

  • Fitz Gate Ventures invests a majority of its capital in early stage companies where a Princeton alum, faculty member or student is a founder or member of the senior management team.

  • Through its 200 member "Friends of Fitz” advisory board comprised of alumni, faculty, administrators, trustees and students as well as the broader worldwide alumni network, the fund engages with the Princeton community to help it discover and diligence the best startups and then help its founders succeed (introductions to more capital, customers, mentors).

  • Fitz Gate’s portfolio companies have received follow-on funding at premiums from Sequoia, Canaan, Tribeca, Andreessen Horowitz, Citi Ventures, Focus Financial Partners (KKR) and other leading VC firms after Fitz Gate invested.

  • Two of Fitz Gate’s founders have already won Princeton University’s highest award for excellence in entrepreneurship.

  • Fitz Gate’s portfolio companies have been profiled in the New York Times, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times and Forbes.

  • Fitz Gate’s principals regularly sponsor/judge faculty, alumni and student startup events on and off campus and also teach venture capital both at the Princeton graduate school (seminar series) and at Rice Business School.

  • Fitz Gate Ventures I is a $10mm fund and Fitz Gate Ventures II (launching February 2019) is expected to be a $20mm fund.
